The Sony Ericsson K750i will have your mouth watering from the moment you lay eyes on it. It is very small but extremely sexy and is available in black and red. It boasts a massive 1GB of memory and a range of stylish features that purport to fulfill your every whim, but are those boasts justified?

The overall look of the K750i is simply gorgeous. The phone is well balanced, with the 176x220 resolution screen taking up the same amount of space as the well-designed keypad. The keys are big enough to be able to use effectively, making text and data input relatively easy, and the joystick just above them can be used to accurately navigate the phone with some success, in complete contrast to other brands' attempts at the same.

The K750i is extremely user-friendly and designed with novices in mind, but isn't so patronizing that pro users would take offense. The menus are well defined and ordered so that nothing is elusive.

The features list contains Bluetooth, USB, MP3, FM stereo, infrared, WAP capabilities and a 2MP camera. In comparison to some other models, this is basic but somewhat reassuring that there is no particular focus on one area to the detriment of others. The camera delivers high quality images and the music player delivers brilliant sound quality, but neither leads to the sound quality of calls and general signal availability being compromised.

A special mention should go to the battery life of the K750i. It lasts an amazing 6 hours of talk time and 5 days on standby, presumably as a result of not having features that eat up too much of it and leave nothing behind for you to do anything else.

The K750i is a good all round phone, but it does have a few slight problems. First of all, if you are looking for the charger hole, it can get quite confusing. There is only one connector for the charger and headphones, which is unusual for a phone and can be irritating if you want to use both at the same time. The memory stick may also cause problems because very few phones use Memory Stick Duo cards, thus making it difficult to share and transfer files. On the whole, these are only slight niggles that do not detract from the overall excellence of the phone in any major way. They are simply minor irritants. The K750i is a great phone from its outer appearance right through to functionality and connectivity. It is good for a beginner to use, as well as an expert, and is encouraging purely because it refuses to compromise quality in one area for upgrades in another.
