Wounded Warrior

Wounded Warrior
By Paul Davis

Wounded warrior
Battle weary
Physically drained and dreary
Fighting day and night
No peace in sight
You win one battle
Suddenly here comes another
No time to sit and be merry
With sister and brother
Another day
Another death
Continual killing
Nobody seems to be feeling
No forgiveness, reconciliation, or healing
Politicians rhetoric seemingly is not endearing
Innocent civilians, these soldiers, they're fearing
Occupied territories, nightly curfews
Treating human beings like refuse
Trying to protect them as best you can
Yet while doing so
You remove freedom from the land
Nevertheless nobody seems to give a damn
Ethnic violence, religious hatred, a sectarian war
Nearly every soul seems rotten to the core
You don't know who to trust
Even women and children are for war used
Made to fight against their will and abused
To advance the jihadist cause
Whatever that means
Sunnis and Shiites remain divided it seems
Nothing is quite clear
Beyond Washington's agenda to remain
Stay the course
Suck the oil
Meanwhile's soldiers families blood does boil
As their sons endure daily suicide bombings
Explosive upheaval
Be it militaristic or ideological
It seems to never cease
And the soldier is never with a moment's peace
Despite a divine release
A word of prayer
And touch of divine presence
The solider must remain alert
Always ready
Stable and steady
The truth however is it's not so easy
Warriors also get sleepy
Bellies get hungry
Senses get exhausted
Sometimes warriors even get wounded
Take heart wounded warrior
Be it from injury within or without
Because you're a hero
There is no doubt
Though sometimes misled
By your Commander in Chief
God above will soon vindicate
And provide relief.

I am the gateway; I am the door. I connect the inside to the outside. I decide which outside comes in. I control the flux and the flow. I hold the wise blood, or let it go. I protect the growing babe, or thrust it unformed into a world unsuitable. None leave, none enter, except by my grace, my decision. I am the passage of birth. I am the mark of the sun. I am as near as the reach of your finger, yet mysterious and hidden. Many women, most men, born through me, go their whole life without gazing upon me.

I offer blood to Mother Earth. I spin stretchy strings of fertile mucus to Grandmother Moon. I am as sensitive as the best hound's nose, as authoritative as the wisest crone. I am not, and have never been, innocent. I am all seeing, thou .. [Click to continue]

Family Resemblance

Family Resemblance

Galatians 3:26-29
“For ye are all sons of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ. There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither bond nor free, there can be no male and female; for ye all are one man in Christ Jesus. And if ye are Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, heirs according to promise.”

When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you were born again into the family of God. You are a child of God now, a son of God, Joint Heirs with Jesus.

Have PCOS and Tired All The Time? It May Be Your Thyroid
By Julie Renee Callaway

If you suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome and autoimmune thyroiditis, you are likely exhausted much of the time. You are not alone! One study showed that 40 percent of women with PCOS also have autoimmune thyroiditis. Women with PCOS are six and a half times more likely to have autoimmune thyroid damage than women without PCOS, according to a study in the March 2004 European Journal of Endocrinology.

In a 2001 report at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society, German researcher Dr. Roland Gaertner suggested that the increased risk of autoimmune thyroiditis in women with PCOS may be linked to low progesterone levels. Gaertner suggested that low progesterone in women with pol .. [Click to continue]

Favorite Travel Destinations & Dishes Abroad, Unforgettable Places Overseas
By Paul Davis

As a worldwide traveler disenchanted with American consumerism and individualism, I prefer spending Thanksgiving among the poor overseas where the true meaning of thankfulness can be felt from the heart. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, Americans want to embrace and experience their world.

Favorite Thanksgiving destinations abroad are Costa Rica, the Caribbean Islands, the Orient, and Eastern Europe all of which you can get treated like family upon arrival and get more bang for your buck despite the decline of the dollar.

Must taste foods overseas are:

Costa Rica - ceviche (a phenomenal culinary delight - fish marinated and cooked in lem .. [Click to continue]

Life In The Fast Lane

Life In The Fast Lane
By Ellen Besso

Many of us are now living in the fast lane, our lives are fully scheduled, even our personal time. This often leads to a stressful lifestyle, with side effects like anxiety, sleeplessness, depression and potentially addictive behaviors and activities.

We all have a vision, if somewhat blurry, of our ideal life. To develop a fuller picture of this preferred life, and to understand what feeds us, we need time and space. Many people have a longing for a slower, perhaps fuller life and are beginning to look inside themselves to find out what they truly desire.

Learning to pause periodically during the day to ‘re-group’ and replenish our energy can be a helpful ‘first step‘, and can make an enormous difference in our he .. [Click to continue]
