Winter Holidays - Celebrate Christmas With Friends and Snow Games
By Jan Verhoeff
Christmas at our house almost always includes snow, skiing, and sledding. It's Colorado so snow is plentiful most years by Christmas. My favorite snow game includes a whole passel of people, however many you have can play this game. We always call it "Winter Holiday" though I seem to remember others calling it Surrender or Winter Challenge. The directions are pretty easy, and I'll break them into steps.
Step 1: The Gathering
Gather a crowd of folks to play the game and break into two teams by counting 1 - 2 and separating the ones from the twos. Line up on either side of a snowy yard or field. Spread apart about an arms length from your neighbor on either side.
Step 2: The Selection
Select one person from each team and send that person to the middle of the long row, then stand the two people in between the long rows. Those two stay put. The rest of the teams scatter on either side as far as they can while staying in the same yard or field. (Larger fields are more fun - and if it happens to be a snowy hillside with snow still falling down, that's even better.)
Step 3: The Collection
While walking back toward the center of the gathering, members of each team begin to collect snow balls. As many as each can carry they collect and carry back to the middle. These should be firmly molded together in balls that fit inside a hand.
Step 4: The Delivery
Take the collection of snowballs back to the people in the center. Leave them in their circle and form a loose circle within 10 feet or so of the center people. Begin to walk in a line around and around the inner two people.
Step 5: The Challenge
The people in the middle pick up the snowballs and throw them at the group walking around them. Their object is to hit all the people in the circle with a snowball, knocking them out of the circle. If they get all the people out of the circle, they must surrender their post to the newcomers (two new people selected by the teams). If they don't hit all of them, they must put all the people they didn't hit with snowballs in the middle of the ring.
This is a fun field game for after Christmas Dinner.

It Comes To Us All I received an extra gift this Christmas. In addition to the usual jumper, multi pack of socks and underwear, I received a car washing kit. You know the kind of thing, wash- leather, sponge, shampoo and polish. I think someone was trying to tell me something. Never mind, it was a handy present and I put in one of the kitchen cupboards for safekeeping, I was sure to find it there. The Thursday after Christmas my wife and daughter had gone to the sales for the day so I decided to tidy up the garden. When I got outside I looked around wondering what to do and decided to clear the sweet peas and save the seeds for next year. On the way to the garage, to get some gloves and a rubbish bag, I picked up the watering can meaning to put it .. [Click to continue]
Website Builder Part 3 - Selling A Ebook On Your Website If you think you're ready to sell your own product, that's great, but this type is probably the
hardest and most expensive to start. First, let's talk about what you're going to sell. Like I said
before, informational products, like ebooks, are definately the easiest things to sell. You don't have
to worry about shipping, because the product is digital! Pick a topic that you enjoy, because this
makes it easier to write about. Once you've picked a main topic (ie. Important Consumer Report
for Televisions), think of some sub topics that you could write about (ie. TV's: Plasma, LCD, DLP,
Projection, etc). Then, research your sub topics on the internet to find some quality information. Use a wor .. [Click to continue]
Black Friday vs Cyber Monday It was Thanksgiving evening, the turkey was almost done and I was looking at all the 'Black Friday' ads in my local newspaper. Not exactly what the pilgrims and Indians had in mind but there I was none the less. Best Buy's ad caught my eye as they were having a special on a Western Digital External Hard Drive, 250 GB, for only $69.99. These things often sell for over $175 so I was impressed. I needed one to not only back up my web site, Rather-Be-Shopping.com, but I could also use it for my families digital pictures and my music collection. Best Buy opened at 5 a.m. on Friday morning and I decided I would try to get there when it opened and make my move on this external hard drive. 5 A.M. - What Was I Thinking?? [Click to continue]
Santa Claus Workshop ~ Diary of an Elf ~ Day 29 Hi everyone! We had a great time at our skiing lesson this morning. Charlie, Crystal and I spent more time on the ground than on our skis. Although we fell down a lot, we did not get hurt. We have a great teacher, his name is Galaxy. Well his real name is Glenn Galaxy, but he wants us to call him Galaxy. When we first met Galaxy this morning we were kind of afraid of him because he looks kind of funny - spikey green and orange hair and three three earrings in each ear. He even has tattoos on some of his fingers. Galaxy is really funny; everytime we fell down he would copy us to show us what we did wrong. We were all laughing so hard we were almost crying. How Do I Start To Make Money Online? People who want to begin a home business often have no idea as to what to do. Sitting in front of a blank PC screen is not going to make that happen; all that it would do is remind one of television. So read this article as it would provide you with some of the most basic building blocks for your home business. Everything has to have a first step and for you that is to sit down and think about what you like to do. Everyone has interests and as such, almost all interests can be monetized.
